Stress Relieving / Annealing

Stress relieving and annealing treatments include several types of heat cycles aimed at reducing internal stresses and improving the machinability of aluminum alloys.
These include soft annealing, recrystallization annealing, and stress relieving treatments, carried out with the purpose of making the material more ductile, stable, and uniform, thus facilitating subsequent machining or plastic deformation processes.

These processes are particularly important when the part must undergo further dimensional modifications or when it comes from castings that have accumulated internal stresses during solidification and cooling phases.

MGT performs these treatments in temperature-controlled furnaces, precisely calibrating time and process parameters according to the alloy and the customer’s specific requirements.
The result is a more stable, uniform, and easily machinable material, with a significant reduction in the risk of unwanted distortions during subsequent operations.
