Aging

Aging is the phase that follows solution heat treatment and aims to increase the hardness and mechanical strength of aluminum alloys through the controlled precipitation of alloying elements. This process can occur in two ways: natural aging, carried out at room temperature and identified as T4, or artificial aging in a furnace, known as T5, where the material is held at a specific temperature for a defined period of time.

Artificial aging allows the alloy to achieve higher and more stable mechanical properties, tailored to the requirements of the final component. MGT operates four dedicated furnaces for this phase, ensuring uniformity, precise parameter control, and repeatability throughout the cycle.
Thanks to the company’s extensive experience in the sector, the aging process is performed with great accuracy, ensuring that every part reaches the required performance level and is suitable for even the most demanding applications.
